An unapologetic dork who loves to explore every facet of humanity, Devon Kerr is (amongst many other things) a screenwriter, producer, crossword constructor, country line dancing expert, and a former employee of the public library. His imaginative, stylish, and darkly comedic writing explores characters from all walks of life grappling with facing the broken parts of themselves as they strive toward creating a better world.
Recently awarded the 2022-2023 Humanitas New Voices Fellowship, Devon has also been a part of the 2024 Pre-Rainbow Pages Mentorship Program, and has placed in competitions for the Disney General Entertainment Program, Script Pipeline, Screencraft, Austin Film Festival, and Final Draft Big Break. His dark comedy feature “MASTER” has Mariela Villa (Level Up Pictures) and Lauren Beveridge (Point Productions) attached to produce. In the past, he has worked as a writer’s assistant on CBS’ “FBI: MOST WANTED” and for “PERSONAL INJURY,” a legal/crime pilot written by Nina Manni. He currently works as the Development Coordinator for the production company Discount Sushi Prods., founded by Jon Cryer and Lisa Joyner.
During his senior year at Northwestern University, he went (mildly) viral after The Chainsmokers tweeted about his jukebox musical parody “Chainsmokers: The Musical.”
Devon has been writing since he was three years old creating Thomas the Tank Engine fan fiction to tell to his younger sister. He loves to tell stories that hopefully will make the world a little bit of a nicer place.
He currently lives in Los Angeles, but would rather be on the Isle of Sodor (it’s where Thomas the Tank Engine lives, and there’s green pastures, great rail infrastructure, and free healthcare. Seems pretty sweet!)
